The Marylebone Gents Lavatory Paradox

(Or ‘How even the most mundane moments in life can spark insight’.)

Not so long ago, the gents lav­at­or­ies (‘loos’ from now on) at Maryle­bone Sta­tion in London were in genu­ine need of repair and renovation.

Basins were often faulty, doors were often unhinged, com­munal space was cramped and it required con­stant clean­ing and supervision.

I assume the ladies loos weren’t much better because Chil­tern Rail­ways — or maybe it’s Net­work Rail — announced a pro­gramme of repairs and improve­ments to both the gents and ladies loos.
